SHS-CHSC05 – 100mm x 100mm Float, 400gsm PVC, 6mm Chain (Medium Risk)
Medium-Risk Floating Containment for Rivers, Calm Harbours & Moderate Water Forces
Overview
The CHSC05 Floating Containment System is engineered for medium-risk water bodies such as rivers and calm harbours where moderate wind and/or water forces are present. This 20-metre length system features a larger 100mm x 100mm closed-cell foam float for enhanced buoyancy and stability in more demanding conditions compared to low-risk alternatives.
The system combines the larger float with a 1-metre deep 260gsm non-woven geotextile skirt, providing effective containment and sedimentation control in environments with moderate wave action and water movement. Constructed with 400gsm yellow PVC (matte top side, gloss back side) for the float chamber and marine-grade components throughout, this system offers reliable performance for applications requiring floating barriers, sediment curtains, or debris containment in medium-energy water bodies. The 6mm marine-grade galvanised chain ballast ensures stable deployment, while standard ASTM F962 Z-connectors allow for easy interconnection to extend barrier length as needed. An added 50mm high-tensile webbing with 2-tonne breaking strain below the float chamber provides extra reinforcement.
Key Features & Benefits
Medium-Risk Water Body Design
Specifically engineered for rivers, calm harbours, and locations with moderate wind and/or water forces.
Enhanced Flotation
Larger 100mm x 100mm closed-cell crumble-free foam flotation chambers provide superior buoyancy and stability in moderate conditions.
Reinforced Construction
50mm high-tensile webbing with 2-tonne breaking strain below float chamber adds extra strength and durability.
Extended UV Protection
400gsm PVC offers up to 5 years UV resistance – more than double the low-risk equivalent.
Higher Strength PVC
Enhanced tensile strength (Warp 2400N/5cm, Weft 2400N/5cm) and tear strength (Warp 450N/5cm, Weft 400N/5cm) for medium-risk environments.
Sediment Containment Skirt
1-metre deep 260gsm non-woven geotextile skirt captures suspended solids with 130 l/m²/s flow rate and 9590 micron pore size.
Marine-Grade Ballast Chain
6mm galvanised chain enclosed in PVC pocket ensures stable vertical orientation in moderate water conditions.
Standardised Connectors
Universal ASTM F962 Z-connectors enable simple interconnection of multiple sections for extended coverage.
Secure Anchoring Points
Stainless steel eye nut anchoring points at 5m, 10m, and 15m positions for reliable deployment.
Australian Made
Manufactured in Australia to high-quality standards with marine-grade components.
